About Anastasia
Anastasia Silvestri was born in Puglia in a Godforsaken village, way back in 1988.
She sees her works as an extension of her mind and imagination.
In her works the artist lies herself in a complex and fascinating territory, where the figurative meets a visual narrative imbued with anxiety and poetry.
These faces and bodies seem to come from a surreal world, where the shadows of dark images are intertwined with a deep sense of vulnerability.
She often finds herself portraying emotions of anguish that become nightmares or even monsters.
In her works, Anastasia weaves an imagery that draws on the language of comics, transforming it into a personal stylistic signature capable of exploring the universal themes of pain, resilience and hope.
She loves painting, drawing and mixing the arts with digital. She often draws on paper mixing pencils and pen; furthermore, oil on canvas stands out among his favorite techniques.
“The monsters arrive. Visions, fairytale moments.” (Anastasia Silvestri)
